Trades Geeks Business Health Check. A practical summary for this tool, not legal advice. Trades Geeks is the trading name of My Trusted Trades Ltd.

What you give us

Business name, trade, town or postcode, website, phone, email, company name or number if you have one, and an optional Facebook link. The marketing box is unticked. We only send tips and offers if you tick it. Sole traders and partnerships are treated as individuals: the report you asked for still arrives, and marketing only happens with that tick. Limited companies are corporate subscribers. We can email a business address about our services if we identify ourselves and every email has an easy opt-out.

What we look up

Public information about the business, so we can score it:

  • Google, for the Business Profile you confirm. We show Google's figures on the results page and keep the place ID. We don't keep a stored copy of ratings, review counts or opening hours from Google. Where a review count is saved for an email, it comes from DataForSEO, or we store a band such as "under 20".
  • Companies House, for company status, formation date and whether accounts or the confirmation statement are overdue. We keep directors' first names so we can greet you on a follow-up call. We don't store the full name.
  • Your website, which our server fetches and reads for the basics: https, contact details, title and LocalBusiness markup.
  • PageSpeed Insights, for mobile speed and SEO.
  • DataForSEO, for map and organic position, and to see whether directory domains show up in search.
  • Brave Search, for one web search per check, to find a website if Google didn't and to see public directory and social links.
  • The public Facebook link you paste, for a title and picture when Facebook allows it.
  • DNS, to see whether your email domain can receive mail.

Who processes it

  • Google, for Places and PageSpeed.
  • Companies House.
  • DataForSEO.
  • Render, which hosts this app (Frankfurt).
  • HighLevel, when it is switched on, which stores the contact, the score and the tags used to email the report. It is off until we connect it.
  • Cloudflare, for the Turnstile check, when that is switched on.
  • Upstash, when it is switched on, which stores the report so the link still works after a restart.

How long we keep it

The results page is kept for 90 days, then removed. The HighLevel contact, once connected, follows Trades Geeks' normal retention. Running the check and sending the report is what you asked us to do. Marketing uses the tick box, or the corporate subscriber rule for limited companies.
